well, welcome to another episode of Make It a Great Day. The Power of positivity. First off, I've just got to say thank you so much to everyone that has listened. Has provided some amazing feedback to help make this show better for myself, of course, by being the host. But most importantly for you, the listener one the key piece of feedback I got was make sure to keep bringing that enthusiasm in the voice and as I talk and I'm gonna make sure to do a much better job of that today. Happy July 5th Help. Everyone had an awesome July 4th, always interesting. When July 4th falls on a Wednesday, we're all back in the office hustling and we're thinking ourselves, man, it feels like a Saturday or Sunday, but it's Thursday, so let's go. And let's finish the week off. Really strong as always, Starting off the quote that I've been thinking about that I think is very timely for the episode that we're gonna cover today. The quote is, if there is no wind role, don't think about that. A lot of us in life are always waiting for that extra wind and expecting that wind to come our way. Very few of us are willing to put the or in the water and start rolling. We need Thio, and I think that really brings up a timely opportunity. I had a great article sent to me about this. The difference between being positive or having that positive perspective and what it means to be an optimist. And as always, I think it's great to start that off with defining both. So the definition of an optimist is a person who is inclined to be hopeful and to expect good outcomes. Someone who gives it in to optimism is someone that believes good things are going to happen. And what's the definition of positive where there's a few, But one of them that I love is being fully assured in confident. I'm positive that this is my computer I'm talking to you live on. I got positivity running through me every single day, but there's a huge difference there when you think about that quote, if I'm positive, it doesn't mean I'm expecting something to happen for me. That means I can go out there and get it. And when things don't go my way, it's how I think about them now. If I'm not an optimist, I think optimism is incredibly important. An awesome thing because it's a lens that you're looking through that you're believing in good things. You're hoping for the best, but there's a huge difference between hope and actually making it happen. And that's kind of what I want to talk a little about today. Now, as we go through life, and what I like to call them is, opportunities arise every single day. Now some people define an opportunity is a problem or an issue, and so I never see him that way. I always see him as an opportunity because I'm thinking positively most of the time I've planned for these. That's the big difference there again. I've already got my whores in my boat. I've already got my compass out and I'm ready to paddle. I've got a plan A. I've got a Plan B and I've got a plan. See what my positivity does for me and having that is my mental mind state. It doesn't keep me insulated from challenges are opportunities that present themselves. What it does, it is allows for me to be thinking about those ahead of time or even if they come out of the blue taking a step back and thinking, Okay, now how can I look at this guy? Look at this is something that's gonna completely derail me. It's going to stop me from being successful, or is it something that I can learn from? Are there pieces of their little things built into that that I could pull out? I can ponder. I can refocus and then I can keep moving forward. But the difference there is, it's me. It's action. I'm taking that action. I'm understanding that if it is to be, it's up to me. A good friend of mine, Paul comes. You should always say that. Say it with me. If it is to be, it is up to me. I have the power and I have that control. I need to make it happen. I need to be rowing in that boat. I don't want to wait for the wind. I got to get to that island. I don't know what's going on that island. There could be some cool things happening there, and I need to get there, but what I cannot do is I cannot wait for that wind. I cannot expect it to happen. I've got to make it happen. And I think that's really a big difference. Is positive perspective again equates having action associated with it, being thoughtful and being planned out. And when things don't come our way or things do go our way, we can take full advantage of it because we put the time in the effort in and again when things come out of the blue, which it happens to us every single day we can think about it and we can ponder it. But what we can't do is we can't expect it just to go away. We can expect it just to fix itself just out of nowhere. All of a sudden, some kind of dimensions gonna come in and it's just going to say Nope, We cannot get that out. Yep, it's done. No, no, no, no. I think for me most things in life don't work that way. But I do believe that if you have a positive mindset, you're putting things forward. Good things do happen. But again, it's the action there, right? You're making that happen as an optimist, you're expecting potentially for it to happen. Remember, it's a person who was inclined to be hopeful and expect good outcomes. Life. I'm hopeful. That's great. I hope every single day that I have a great day. But I also am a realist, and I understand every single day it's not going to be great. There's gonna be some things that come about, but how I choose to perceive those and see those and what I do to change those is again up to me. And that's where I believe that power of positivity really comes into play. So if we're out at sea or run a race, or like I said, we're looking to get to that island. I know that at some point yes, Wind is going to return, it is going to set sail. The question is, where's the wind gonna blow from right now? If I'm an optimist, I'm hoping for the best. If I'm a realist, I'm probably expecting it's not gonna happen if I merge positivity in there between the two. I can either start rowing, get myself situated. I could potentially change the way of my sailors set. I could rework some of the different opportunities of how the boat is structured. But I'm gonna prepare for what comes my way. I am not gonna wait for something to come my way just by happenstance. And so that's what I think. Positivity and preparation preparation around positivity really echoes a bit of a difference between just being an optimist. And again, things are gonna come out of the blue or things are gonna be out there that we expected them to happen. And if we look at those as opportunities to get better and tow, learn, we're gonna be in a much better place If we expect those things to go our way or to change by happenstance orjust by the winds. Then a lot of times we're gonna be disappointed. We're going to start to not realize our goals, and we're going to start to let negativity get inside. And when negativity gets inside its Justus powerful, some might argue more powerful than positivity because it's really easy to become complacent at that point, to start blaming others to get lazy. We don't want to do that. We want to keep that positivity heading forward and with us and in order to do that with whatever we're setting out to do. Let's put a game plan together. Let's start thinking about what could go wrong, how we plan for that, so that when it does, it just rocks and it doesn't bother us what so ever? And that's incredibly important in my opinion. So what I'd love for everyone to do here the next few days is to take some really good time and think about the next goal or opportunity, I said, rather than just thinking about achieving that, I start to think about what could happen during the journey in which were on that could derail me. And if it does, how do I make sure that when that happens, I've got a plan A, B, C or D, or I have the opportunity that when it does arrives to say, Whoa, take a second here? How can I look at this as a learning opportunity? How can I rethink or reframe what's happening and how can I go at it from a positive direction? Do not wait for it to happen. Make it happen. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to listen. I hope it's been informative. Love coming to you always really appreciate all the feedback you, but come in.
